Acupuncture...

As most of you know, I have been suffering horrendous migraines, since Jack was about 6 months old. I have begun acupuncture, and am on week 3. I go twice a week - and have some wonderful Mama friends here in the Harbor that care for the kiddos while I go. It seems to be working wonders. The acupuncturist is first working on my "overall well-being and depleted energy", and then will focus primarily on my migraines. I was so nervous my first session, but it is AMAZING. I cannot rave enough about it. I don't think I'll ever stop going. Luckily, with Brian's new job, we have fabulous insurance that does cover acupuncture (or else, it's incredibly spendy).
I'm hoping & praying that this can help with my migraines.
It's a slow process, but one I'm willing to go through. Migraines are truly an excruciating disease to deal with, and it's hard to understand unless you've endured one yourself... which I would NEVER wish upon ANYONE!!! But, I am really trying to stay positive, and hope that all this self care (acupuncture, taking time outs for myself, trying to alleviate as much stress as possible) will pay off!

Just wanted to keep everyone updated.

Overall, we are all doing great. Gearing up for all the fabulous fun Fall activities. We have a Dragon costume for Jack for Halloween, but not sure if he'll go for it, or back out at the last minute. :)
Maggie will be the sweet little pumpkin she is (in a pumpkin costume).
I will attempt pictures and post!

Love to you all! xoxo

Fun with old friends!!!

This weekend, we had our great friends Ryan, Lindsey and Bailey Anderson come to visit us from Vancouver. Brian and Ryan go way back... all the way to high school and were college roommates, as well. Ryan was also a groomsmen in our wedding. So, they are a very special family to us.
Their daughter, Bailey is 4 months older than Jack, and an absolute doll.
Needless to say, Jack and Bailey had an absolute BLAST together!!! There was no fighting at all, not really any issues with sharing (surprisingly!!!). They were just the best of buds!
Maggie enjoyed them too.
We had plans to go to the fair, but unfortunately, fall weather really kicked in, and we had rain :(. So, we walked around the Harbor, went to the park, had a yummy lunch out at one of our favorite restaurants, and overall just chatted and let the kids play like wild.

After they left, Jack went down for a nap, and when he woke up, he was VERY upset, we are suspecting because his BFF had left.

We are anxious to see them again soon. It was a wonderful weekend. Thank you, Ryan, Lindsey and Bailey for making the long trek to see us. We had a fabulous time with you all, and miss you already!!!!

Almost 2 and almost 3 months...

I realized it's been a while since I have blogged... things have been so busy.
Fall is in the air, and I LOVE it. Everything I love about fall is here... including NO RAIN... keep your fingers crossed.

The munchkins are doing FABULOUS. Jack is learning more and more each day. It's amazing how much of a little sponge he is. He is still going to his little "school" 2 mornings p/week, which gives me some alone time with Maggie, and some time to get some much needed things done around the house, or run errands, etc.
Maggie is also doing great. She had her 2 month check up last week, and she is still just a little peanut. Weighing in at a whopping 9lbs, 6 oz., and 22" long! Hard to believe that is about what Jack was when he was born, he was only 5 oz. smaller, but same length!!!!
She is growing slowly, but surely though. The pediatrician said she is right on track for being a small, petite little girl. :) The pediatrician also said that she thought Maggie would be an early crawler/walker, since she is so wiry and loves to MOVE! Speaking of, she rolled over for the first time this weekend. We just happen to be at Brian's parent's house, so we all got to see it, and were very proud of her.

Fall is coming with, yet again a busy schedule for us. Our great friends, the Anderson's, will be coming this weekend. Their daughter Bailey, is 4 months older than Jack. We plan on taking them to the fair. I know Jack will LOVE all of the animals!!!!

I hope you are all doing well. And, please know we think of and miss all of our friends and family.
ps. I will try to get better at updating more frequently :)
Lots of Love,
The Weeks Team

Our relaxing weekend...

Oh, what a weekend we had. Brian's parents came for the weekend for some much needed (and greatly appreciated) help with the kiddos. Brian and I were able to have a little relaxing time, and mostly I was able to catch up on some much needed (and again, incredibly grateful) sleep!
Jack and Maggie had a fabulous time with G & G Weeks.

On Saturday, we went for a long (about 3 mile) walk, with both kiddos in the Jogger. Jack walked for a while, and then got pooped!

It was so nice to have some down time... FINALLY!
Brian and I even got to go on a little date on Sunday - late morning. We went to the movies and saw "Julie and Julia". I absolutely loved it. He, of course, thought it was a chick flick, but said he enjoyed it nontheless, because he was with me.... awwwww!

Monday morning came to quickly. But, the munchkins and I had a good day. I had a doctor's appt. this morning, and they have a great daycare (through the YMCA) at the doctor's office. Jack hung out in there and played and Miss Maggie came with me. Afterwards, we went and played at the park with some friends, and then came home for naps. Overall, a very successfull day! We are hoping to continue to have nice weather for the park for a little while longer... not sure what we'll do when the rain begins... lots of home playdates!

Portland Trip...

The kids and I made our first trip, just the three of us. The ride down was great, Maggie slept almost the entire way, and Jack entertained himself with books and toys. Overall, great trip down....

We had a fabulous time seeing friends and family, but the munchkins had a difficult time adjustint to staying with Nana (my Grandmother) and not in their own beds, not to mention we were completely off our routine/schedules.

Overall, a successful trip, just not making any promises I'll be leaving Gig Harbor anytime soon with both kids alone! :)

Portland here we come...

Jack, Maggie and I (Brooke) are making a trip to Portland on Sunday, August 16th, and staying for a few days to visit family and friends, many of which have not yet met Maggie! We are excited, but honestly, I am a bit nervous about taking both kids by myself. We will be staying with Grandma Bette, and know she'll be a great help. We'll also get to see Grandma Amy on Sunday - which we are excited about.
And, of course, all of our friends that we have missed so much since making our move to Gig Harbor. I promise to take lots of pictures and post when we get home! WISH US LUCK, I think we're gonna need it!

The babes...

Today Maggie went in for her weekly check-up, due to GERD and weight gain. She gained a whopping 9 ounces in just a week, which is GREAT! She is nursing much better, and is overall a happier baby... although a bit on the fussy side.

Jack got a BIG surprise this weekend from Grandma & Grandpa Weeks... a Thomas the Train tent... he LOVES it!!!!
