Keeping up with the Weeks...

Some kiddo fun! We went to my great friend, Katy, and her husband, Justin's house on Sunday. We were invited to help them in celebrating their little guys 1st birthday! Happy Birthday, Camden! He is such a doll, and just pure sweetness. We were so happy to be able to celebrate such a special occassion with him and his great family!

Camden's cousin, Jake was there... who lives in Southern California. Jake is 4, and he and Jack could not have more similar personalities. They had a blast playing like wild monkeys together!!! We hope we get to see Jake again, the next time he comes to visit!

Maggie, as always, had fun just observing, and then of course lots of playing. She was very interested in Camden, but he had a lot of fans at his house... so I think it was hard for him to pay much attention to Maggs. But, we know he loves her!!! :)

And, wouldn't you know... one of the times I would have loved to have taken tons of pictures... I couldn't. I had brought my camera with me, but right before leaving our house, I had put all of the pictures that were on it, onto the computer, and absent mindedly left the memory card in the computer!!!!  UGH!!! I was beyond disappointed. Nonetheless, it was a fantastic party, and I got some pictures of our Munchkins afterwards...

Maggie in her "party" dress
Jack and Maggie playing with a train whistle from the goodie bags... f.u.n.!!!
Maggie being extra silly (aka: so tired) after getting home from the party!
Maggie with Daddy! xoxo
Deciding whether or not it's worth the effort and energy to climb up onto the couch...
Yep, think it's worth the effort!!!
Jackson looking so handsome!
As you can see, the train whistles were a huge hit!!!
As were the super cute bubbles in a "carrot" container... so cute!
ps. the birthday theme was barnyard, farm animals... again, soooo wish I had been able to use my camera, as all of the decoration, etc. were so CUTE!!!
Maggie's new thing is to stick out her tongue... a lot... she thinks it is hilarious...
 especially when giving kisses! :)
Big Brother Jack thought it was funny too!
Even though he got licked rather than kissed...
don't think he'll find this funny in a couple of years!
 more kisses!
 Such a good sport!
as he kept going in for more ... they were both laughing so hard...
it was so funny to watch them!

Again, such a super fun afternoon!!!

Thanks, Katy & Justin for such a fun time! It was a great party!
And, Happy 1st Birthday, Sweet Camden!
We can't wait to celebrate many many more birthdays with you!!!

*more pictures, etc. to come... as I am a bit behind on my blogging... apologies. I think I have finally gotten the blog issues worked out... but, things might continue to look a little different... I'm working on it! :)

Love to you all!

Blogging is sometimes ... no fun!

Oh, to my fellow bloggers... please tell me that you have encountered times in which you log on to your special, thought out, detailed blog... only to find that it looks absolutely nothing like you left it...
as that is what has happened to ours... ugh!!! yes.it's.not.fun. But, it is what it is... so many apologies if everything is funny looking, or you can't even see it at all for a while (as it has done to me) - it will be fixed... just not sure when or how long it will take to get everything looking "normal" again.

We are all doing well. I had a weird and (thankfully) short-lived flu-like virus starting on Tuesday night, until mid-day today. I'm still not feeling 100%, but can say I am feeling soooo much better than I did! So thankful it passed quickly, and no one (hoping, praying, crossing fingers!!!) else has gotten it! I hope good health continues in our house.

Just wanted to let you know that if our blog looks funny, it isn't your eyesight... it's most likely that I clicked the wrong "button", and therefore will have fun in attempting to make it look a little less weird.
Wish me luck, I'm fairly sure I'll need it!
xoxo,
Brooke

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

It's Valentine's Day!
I gotta say, I think that Valentine's Day is fun...
I wouldn't consider it a "true" holiday, as it is way too exclusive in that if you don't/chose not to/haven't found the one - you aren't supposed to celebrate... I don't think so! Everyone should celebrate, regardless of their relationship status...
I think of Valentine's Day as a special day to show all the incredible people in your life that you LOVE dearly, that you LOVE them...
but, with that said, I do think that showing/telling those you LOVE that you care/love/support them, is something that should be done EVERYDAY, not just one day a year!
I also think having munchkins makes Valentine's Day so different - make that so much MORE FUN! Not just the fact, that you probably don't/or chose not to go out to a fancy dinner, etc. with your significant other ON Valentine's Day, but it is just so much fun, to make lots of hearts, give lots of hugs and kisses, and just show your kiddos how much you love them. Again, this definitely should be done daily (I know it is at our house! :P), but for whatever reason, Valentine's Day gives me the excuse to make these for Jack and Maggie for breakfast...
Chocolate Chip Heart-shaped Pancakes... yummy!
Well, Jack and I thought so. Maggie wasn't as crazy about them... so I made her her usual favorite, scrambled eggs. However, I couldn't get them to be heart-shaped.

For Lunch... heart-shaped sandwiches!
both kiddos did like these! :)

Our Valentine's Day didn't actually start today, it really started on Saturday! Brian and I were able to get away for a night, have a wonderful lunch and dinner and some much needed relaxation sans kiddos! We did miss them so much, but they had a wonderful time with Nana and Papa! Brian's parents came for the weekend to have fun with the munchkins, and Brian and I took a well-deserved mini vacay. It was so fun!

The munchkins were not only spoiled by having Nana & Papa here to play with, they also got a lot of Valentine goodies!

Nana & Papa got to watch Maggie in her fun class "Bubbles, Balls & Beanbags", and also watch Jack play Soccer. They were both very proud to have their Nana & Papa there to cheer them on!

after morning classes for the munchkins we all headed home...
... and then Brian and I were off!
Gorgeous bouquet of flowers my fabulous hubby had for me at the Westin - where we stayed this weekend (also special, as we stayed there the night of our wedding before we headed out on our honeymoon), on our big vacay to... downtown Portland! ;)

We headed into Downtown after Maggie's class, and Jack's soccer. We enjoyed lunch at Henry's - one of our favorite and special restaurants. It is where we had our first date, as well as where Brian proposed to me.
(the proposal was done there, as he had asked me that day if I wanted to go to Multnomah Falls - and I didn't want to go because it was a really cold day... so, needless to say I really messed up his plans.
:(
Luckily, he had a back-up plan of taking me to Henry's... as it was where we went for our first date... so it had meaning!)
We enjoyed Henry's, some shopping Downtown, a wonderful dinner, and an incredibly nice relaxing evening watching 2 movies (which we seem to never do these days... as by the time we get kiddos in bed, etc., we are both exhausted!) and the BEST part, we both got to sleep in until 10am the next day! We enjoyed a nice lunch, and then headed home to our cuties, who we couldn't stand to be away from for one more minute! :)
A HUGE THANK YOU to Brian's parents for taking the BEST care of Jack and Maggie. They had so much fun! And, Brian and I had a great time together - we were even able to have a full conversation un-interrupted!!! I really cannot recall the last time that has happened!
So, again, Thank You.

Today, we had fun all day. Lots of crafting Valentine hearts, etc.
super cute Valentine girl!
and boy too!

Awesome Valentine Card Jack made at MOPS for me and Brian!
Thank you, Jackson! We LOVE it, almost as much as we love you!!!

When Brian came home, we had a BIG surprise for the kiddos...
Cupid, or Mr. Valentine (as I like to call "him") had come!

They were both excited and surprised!
Unfortunately, Maggie and Jack had a little "disagreement" that lead to this, but thankfully it didn't last long!
They had fun, to say the least!

Maggie is ready for bed!!!
Valentine's Day is a lot of fun, but very tiring!!!

I could not have asked for a better weekend and day today!
I loved having time with Brian, and then having so much fun with J & M.
I hope that we can begin to have fun like this more often, and not just because of one "holiday" per year. As I said earlier, I'm not a big believer in Valentine's Day being a holiday, but rather just a day to remind ourselves to tell those we care about, how much we truly appreciate and LOVE them.
in regards to love...
When both Jack and Maggie were born, the love I felt/feel for them could never be put into words...
but, if I had to try...
these are some words I would use...
and lastly...
Looking back down Memory Lane
One of the absolute BEST days of my life (along with the births of Jack and Maggie)! I remember thinking at the time that I couldn't believe I was getting married, and to such an amazing guy... little did I know or believe that my love would/could grow so much more! For Brian, as well as for Jack and Maggie. Another memory of mine is when I was pregnant with Maggie, thinking that I didn't know if I would be able to love another child as much as I loved Jack, but I did. And, it is so true... your heart grows with each child, to make room for the crazy amount of love you feel for your baby/ies. I must say, Brian, Jack and Maggie are the absolute LOVES of my life, and I would have never imagined that I would have so much love for each of them!

 xoxo to my little team!

Jackson's 1st Valentine's Day!!!
we had just finished "Baby Bootcamp Class"...
and headed over to see Daddy (when he worked at a firm in Vancouver) to have lunch!
Such a sweetie!!!

Maggie's 1st Valentine's Day!!!
Only last year!!!
What a complete cutie!
Love our sweeties, they make Valentine's Day all the better! xoxo

Jack's 2nd Valentine's Day!

l.o.v.e.!!!

of course, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS...
We wish you all a wonderful Valentine's Day!
I hope your day is filled with lots of hugs, and know that we love each of you so very much!!!
