Spring... ???

Could it really be... Spring?

We had a fairly low key weekend, with everyone relaxing from being sick throughout last week with not so fun colds. Happy to say, that I *think* we are all officially on the mend!

My sister, Jayda was in town for the weekend. It was so fun and great to see her - as we hadn't seen her since Jack's Birthday, last November!!! Both Jack and Maggie LOVED spending time with Aunt Jayda, and she seemed to LOVE spending time with them, as well. Jack especially loved that Aunt Jayda would play any game he wanted... and would even be his own personal jungle gym. :) We were happy to be able to spend Friday evening with her... and she also stopped by on Sunday on her way home. We can't wait to see her again!!!
Lots of Love, Hugs and Kisses for Aunt Jayda!!!
xoxo
Maggie also loved Aunt Jayda, but, as usual... Maggie is a girl who walks to the beat of her own drum... and preferred be more of an observer, that a participant in the human jungle gym.
On Saturday night, we were invited to have dinner with our great neighbors who live across the street. Thankfully, we all felt well enough to head over there for a GREAT dinner, and lots of fun! They have 3 darling girls, and their youngest just turned 2 - so she and Maggie are just about the same age... and seem to love playing together. Jack adores their two older girls, ages 5 & 7. They are both so sweet to him (and Maggie)... always inviting him to come along and play with them, and making sure to never let him feel left out. We are so happy to have not only such great neighbors, but great friends.

Getting Ready to head across the street for Dinner and Fun
Maggie all ready to go to friend's house for dinner...
Dress - Check.
Favorite Sparkly Shoes - Check.
Baby Doll - Check.
Ready to go!
Ummm... I'm ready... what's the big hold up?

Ok, family... let's get a move on...
or I'm just gonna head over by myself... well, I'll have baby and blankie with me, of course.
Jack's READY!
Thomas boots on (all by himself AND on the correct feet)!
Let's go... all the way across the street. :)
Yesterday, we decided we all had to get out of the house... and so we went for a nice drive in the sunshine... just checking out some different neighborhoods that we hadn't seen before, and enjoying the gorgeous weather. When we got home, we walked down to the park for bit, and the munchkins had so much fun ... swinging away!!! It was so nice to have a day of sun, and we hear this week is supposed to be filled with good weather... we are hoping this is true, and can't wait to have more park and outside time!
Jackson swinging away...
He is learning to "pump" with his legs... and is very determined to swing "all by himself".

*NOTE: Jackson did something SO SUPER GREAT yesterday... a poo on the potty! We are so proud of our big boy! Hoping going on the potty trend continues!!!

Maggie LOVES the swings ... and is always very sad when it's time to go!
We are so happy to have such a nice park so close to our house, and look forward to many more fun times there this summer!

I did FINALLY finish the spring wreath, that I started over a month ago! I barely had any of it done... so I decided I'd better get it done this weekend before Spring was GONE!
I think it turned out cute... it isn't exactly how I envisioned it...
... and I have no idea where I'll hang it. But, it was fun to make! :) I'm a bit in love and obsessed with making frayed fabric flowers lately... so I decided I needed something to put them on... these ones turned out cute on the wreath. I also really like the neutral colors --- so it could possibly be a year-round wreath :)  That is, if I ever figure out a place to hang it!
(not the best pics... since it isn't actually hanging up... :p)

We hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and a great week ahead!

We do ask for BIG Prayers for my Grandmother, Bette. She is having surgery on Wednesday, due to a cancerous mass on one of her kidneys. They will be removing the entire kidney - as it is a less invasive surgery than attempting to just remove the mass, itself. We are all Praying the surgery goes well, and so does her recovery. We were happy to visit her this morning for a few hours... as she'll be out of commission for about 3 weeks after her surgery.
Lots of Love, Hugs and Prayers to Grandma/Nana Bette.

All our Love,
The Weeks Family

April Showers...

we are hoping & praying will bring May flowers!!!

Sorry we've been MIA with the blog, lately. Each of us has been sick, and that makes for no fun in this house! Maggie is (we are hoping!!!) at the end of a little cold, that Brian, she and I all had... Thankfully, Jackson managed to sneak by that one!
Also, at the end of March, I got really sick, with what the Doctors believed at first was a virus, and I ended up in the hospital for 4 days. :(
After being able to keep 2 meals down - they set me free! I can most definitely say, that being in the hospital, and away from Brian, Jack and Maggie was worse than actually being sick! So glad that is over (the hospital stay, at least)... and hoping that with all of the testing, etc. they have done, they can find a cause for why I was so sick, and continue to just not feel 100%. I am hopeful that answers will come ... and it will be a fairly easy fix!

With that said, we are all on the mend... and ready for some much needed sunshine! So, I guess the saying "April Showers Brings May Flowers" is one we are all really counting on this year! The kids and I are so ready to get outside during the day... to say we have serious cases of cabin fever, is an understatement!
Bring on Mr. Sunshine (as Jack would say), we are ready for you!

We do have a few fun things to share... as most of you know, Brian's Aunt and Uncle are moving from Southern California to Camas, WA. They have purchased a home there, and we couldn't be more excited! A few weekends ago, we were able to head out to Camas and check out their new home. Sorry... I didn't get any pictures of the house really... as it was pouring.down.rain.!!!
But, did get some of our muchkins... having a great time, as usual!

They even had fun in the car on the way out there! :)

Jack being extra silly in the car on our way to Camas...

and as always, entertaining "Little Miss"

 She was so tired...
but, managed to stay awake for the whole ride out there... and played when we got to their house... but, on the way home... she was OUT in no time! :)

 The Guys!
Papa (Brian's Dad), Brian, Jackson, and Uncle Bruce at Uncle Bruce and Aunt Karin's new house!
(this picture is taken in the "family room" that is directly off of the kitchen/dining room)

Maggie loved walking around and around in all of the open space!

 Proud new Washingtonians!
Uncle Bruce and Aunt Karin in their new home!!!

 Jack and Brian playing around...
hmmm... looks like a family affair!

I apologize for cutting this post short, as we do have lots of photos to share... but, this Mama needs to get some sleep... as the past few nights have been a bit rough with everyone under the weather....

These last two pictures are of our Sweet Girl... she LOVES sitting at the "big" table and eating with Jack, rather than in her highchair... apparently, highchairs are for babies, and she is not a baby! :p

We hope you are all doing great, and I promise to post again VERY soon, and with lots more pictures!
xo,
Brian, Brooke, Jack and Maggie.

Spring Break Fun...

Spring Break... oh how it seems so long ago that I had a "spring break", that I sort of forgot that it existed... until this past week. Jack and Maggie, of course, are too young to "participate" in spring break... ie. they don't go to school (yet...)... so spring break doesn't really mean much around our house (again... yet...). Our week was just going to be a normal week for us... (wait... is it ever "normal"??? hmmm... I don't think so... but, nonetheless...).
Brian was working all week, and J, M and I were still going through our regular weekly routine. BUT on Monday, we were so happy to hear that some of our family and friends were indeed "on" spring break. This was so fun, because we got to spend extra time with them, when usually they would be in school and/or working.
So... YAY for Spring Break!!!
now if it would only begin to feel like spring...
(Jack's gotten REALLY REALLY good at the "rain rain go away" song... :p)
This print reminds me of spring...
can you tell I'm having a serious case of spring fever???

We first got a wonderful visit from MY two little cousins, Charis (age 7) and Caleb (age 4). They were visiting my Grandmother (also their Grandma) for a couple of days while they were on their spring break. Funny that they are MY 1st cousins and yet, Caleb and Jackson are only a bit over a year apart (with Caleb being the older of the two). My Uncle Jerry (my mother's brother, grandmother's son) and Heather have the two cherubs. They live in Milwaukie (Oregon), and with their Mama's busy work schedule, and their own busy school schedules, we don't get to see them as often as we'd like. So, enjoying a few hours on Monday afternoon with them, was GREAT!!! Jack and Caleb were in pure cousin (and later... Jack informed me that they were "best friends forever") heaven!
It was incredibly sweet... they hugged forever. And, they sat in the rocking chair together, shared a snack... but mostly, they had the BEST time playing, playing, playing together!!!

Charis also seemed to have a good time, and she absolutely adores Maggie. She was so patient and sweet with Maggie.
 Is she not the cutest?
She is so gorgeous... and equally fun and sweet!

It was also so great to have a nice visit with Grandma too!
Nana Bette and her cuddlebug Maggie.
Maggie woke up from nap after they got here...
and really enjoyed snuggling and cuddling with her Nana.
So sweet!
xoxo

We did really miss seeing Heather, and hope that next time, we can all get together. But, we are so happy we got to see Charis and Caleb... and Jack hasn't stopped talking about "his cousins" since... so we'll definitely have to plan something soon so they can all play again!
ps. They have a super fun pool at their house... so we have BIG plans of spending some hot days at their house this summer... ;) Hoping Heather is ok with that... :p

Not only did we have fun with Charis and Caleb... we also had a LOT of fun with my great friend, Jen and her two sweeties, Ava and Olivia. Jen and I have been friends since Junior High School... so over 17 years... WOW, that makes me feel old! We have always kept in touch, but haven't had the opportunity to get together for way too long. It had been 2+ years since we had seen eachother. She had never met Maggie, and I had never met her sweet little Olivia (who turned 1 at the end of February). So, needless to say, the kids were excited... but, I was OVER excited!!!
They were so sweet to make the trip down (they live in The Dalles) to our house for the day, and we couldn't have asked for a better or more fun time!
Jen and I had so much fun chatting and catching up. And, the kiddos LOVED playing together. Especially Jackson and Ava. Ava turned 4 in December, so she is 11 months older than Jack. They were the BEST playmates!!! I kept telling Jen, I wished we lived closer to eachother, as Ava could come over and entertain Jack all day long!
Yes, they are both sitting in a kid's chair together. Ava was sitting there ... and Jack just scooched her over to make room for himself :)
And, this was really the only time they sat still long enough for me to get any pictures...
as you can see they were still having fun being super silly!

Maggie also loved playing... she seemed to prefer playing with the "big kiddos"... but, she did think Olivia was pretty fun and cute too!!!
Two cute girls having some yummy lunch!

 Sweet Maggie loving some pizza!
  Cutie Olivia enjoying lunch too!

Thanks Again, Jen, Ava and Olivia for coming to visit us! We absolutely LOVED having you ... and promise to NEVER go so long without a visit!!! xoxo

Maggie had some serious business to take care of after they left... ;)

We hope you all had a great week and enjoy your weekend ahead!
