a fun Saturday trip...

A day trip to Timberline Lodge...
On Saturday, after Maggie's ballet class, we headed up to the mountain for the day... yep, the mountain, in the summer!
It was an amazing day. Absolutely gorgeous... and both Jackson and Maggie absolutely LOVED every moment of our time there. We did a tiny bit of hiking... and Maggie was a great sport. We know next year, she'll be able to go much further! Jackson is a hiker, and would keep going if we never told him to stop (or wait...he does that anyways :p)

Enjoy the photos from a day filled with snowballs (ice ball?), hiking, playing, laughing, hugging and loving and enjoying a GORGEOUS day at the Mountain!
(ps. It's "muh muh MOUNTAIN, Maggie! Not, Fountain" ... we heard this a LOT from Jackson! HA!!! And, yes, Maggie continued to call the Mountain, the Fountain...  :p)

always have to do a silly face, after a "say cheese" face :)
Ooops, Mama can't hold a wiggly Maggie, and Jack holding on to her... with her already lack of balance! This was definitely a funny moment in our already super fun day!!! :)

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!
We had a really fun day, full of gorgeous weather, time spent with those we love, wonderful food, watching fireworks with friends we love dearly. Yet, most importantly we held THANKS & GRATITUDE in our hearts, towards all who serve/have served our country to give us each the freedom we have today.

Jackson was REALLY enjoying working on his poses/modeling for me, on the drive to Nana & Papas for a wonderful 4th of July picnic!
(in reality, I think he was hamming it up, taking full advantage of the fact that Maggie was a bit grouchy and wanted absolutely nothing to do with having her photo taken... regardless, I adore these photos of our guy!).
Are we there yet?
Are we there yet?
Are we there yet?

... and then back home...
Maggie was VERY intrigued by the fireworks! Much different from last year, where she seemed terrified, yet intrigued at the same time. We thought the noise would bother her, but she LOVED it!!! A lot of jumping, squealing (to the point, we think she may have been LOUDER than some of the fireworks!) and loving all of the pretty colors!

Sweat Pea... Apple of my Eye... Miss M is 3!!!

It's true, and we can barely believe it... but our little princess is 3! It's truly amazing how fast time flies by, and how much Maggie has grown, developed her own little personality, and amazes each and every day!
To think 3 years ago, I was holding my brand new baby girl ~ sometimes it seems like a lifetime ago, and other times it feels just as if it were yesterday. It is a moment in time that is forever etched in my mind, and one that I hold so dear.
(WARNING: major picture overload!!! don't say I didn't warn you... Although, I don't think you'll mind seeing how much our Sweet Baby Girl has grown in just 3 years!)
ENJOY!!!
We could NOT WAIT to meet our little Princess!
(I was SHOCKED when I found out we were having a GIRL! I kept asking "are you sure? are you sure?", and even after I delivered her, I asked Brian, "Is she really a girl?"... Yes, she certainly was!!!
Jackson's first conversation with his baby sister!
Maggie's Room just waiting for her to arrive!
(although, she quickly showed us that, yes her bed was sweet, however, she definitely preferred Mommy & Daddy's bed MUCH MUCH MORE!)
And, not only sleeping in Mommy & Daddy's bed, but LOVED to sleep on Daddy (of course, when not being fed by Mommy!). Which is funny, as to this day, Maggie (most nights) comes into our bedroom between midnight/1am, to snuggle with Daddy... and ONLY Daddy. She wants absolutely NOTHING to do with Mama "when it's dark", but just needs a couple of hours of snuggles with Daddy, and then she asks Daddy to take her back to bed.
Sweet, yes.
Losing Sleep and Daddy being EXHAUSTED, not so much.
Worth it for the snuggles? One would have to ask Brian, but, for the most part, I would guess his answer would be a definite, YES!
She's here!

Our Sweet Princess
All ready to go Home!!!
Maggie's 1st Home ~ Gig Harbor, WA
Two Days Old!
Looking bright eyed and ready to celebrate the 4th of July!!!

Maggie is 1!
WOW, it seems like Maggie's first year FLEW by!
She was born in Tacoma, WA (as we were living in Gig Harbor (their hospital does not deliver babies...), and by the time she was 1 year old, we were living back in Portland!
Maggie's 2nd House!
... and 2nd Bedroom
Thankfully, she enjoyed was sleeping in her bed by House #2!!!
(ps. we promise she is no longer sleeping in a crib! just haven't taken a photo of her room, with her sweet little bed in it. i'll put it on my list of "to-do's", & maybe it'll be a part of next years bday post... no promises!)
Maggie's 1st Birthday Party!!!
Cupcakes Galore!!!
yes, she is wearing a shirt with one long sleeve & one short sleeve...
it was the only "cupcake~ Birthday Girl" shirt, this Mama could find... yet long sleeves don't usually work with a birthday in July (ha, ha, ha... we live in the PNW, they could have definitely worked!).
Mama did a quick little fix of removing the sleeves,
making sure Maggie was the most fashionable "Birthday Girl", there ever was!!!
Good Morning Birthday GIRL!!!
Preferred her plate over her sweet & special cupcake!
A little unsure of all of the attention at first...
Yet, quickly got the hang of things!!!
Such a special & forever memorable day!

Maggie's 1st Birthday Photo Shoot!
Maggie's 1 year photo... such a gorgeous little lady!
Mommy's Princess!
The absolute BEST of FRIENDS!
It's amazing how close Jackson and Maggie are... of course they bicker, argue, etc. as all siblings do.
But, they really do love eachother so very much. They hate being away from eachother, and if one wakes up in the morning before the other, they cannot wait for the other to be awake!!!
It's a bond that we are so thankful & grateful for. We hope it's a bond that lasts forever!

Such a beautiful girl,
looking up to Heaven,
& listening to the Angels.

Maggie turns the BIG #2!
Cookie Monster Style...
Once again, a bit unsure... at first...
But, this year ... she definitely decided that cupcakes weren't so bad afterall!!!
Pure Sweetness... (pun intended)
Big Hugs and Love to and from Nana Bette!

Today, our Miss Maggie turned THREE 3!!!
Happy Birthday Princess!
... and that is how we celebrated, Princess Style!!!
Maggie's Princess Cake was maybe one of her favorite things of all of her party.
Let's hope she continues to be this easy to please for future Birthdays!
Having so.much.fun.!!!
It's ... CAKE TIME!!!

She was so proud to have blown out her #3 candle all by herself!!!
Two sweet Jackson's and One sweet Maggie.
I asked Maggie, "how many Jackson's are sitting at this table?" Her reply, was correct "Two Jackson's, Mama!". I asked her if she wanted to change her name from Maggie to Jackson, so that there would be THREE Jackson's sitting at the table, and surprisingly, she said, "YES! I can be Jackson! Then we have THREE Jackson's. Just like me. THREE!!!"
(anything & everything involving the #3 right now,
is a WONDERFUL FABULOUS & GREAT thing!)
ps. The cutie in the middle is Jackson (middle initial T.). His Mama is one of my very Best Friends... and coming this fall he'll be a Big Brother!!! We adore lil' J (trying to sway my munchkins & myself from calling him "baby jackson", as that is what we have called him since he came into the world. however, I have a feeling pretty soon VERY SOON, he's not going to like that!at.all! he is becoming a BIG boy Jackson, not baby jackson, anymore! N~ you gotta keep tabs on us, over here! :p)
Presents! so.many.gifts!
We could not be more thankful for all of the thoughtful, kind and generous gifts given to Maggie.
She has LOVED every.single.thing.!!!!
(admittedly, Jack and Mama have had fun playing along with them too... or when M's napping... ssshhhh!!!!)
"Reading" each special card, with sweet Bailey checking them out too!
Bailey, also is one of our closest friend's, daughters. She is 4 months older than Jackson, and now also has a younger sister. All 4 munchkins have so much fun together! We are blessed that they live fairly close (Vancouver), and we try to get together once a month, for dinner/playdate!
We love the A. Family!!!
Jackson even got a present! His Aunt Misty & Uncle Jeff, always, so thoughtfully bring him a gift on Maggie's birthday, and Maggie a gift on Jackson's birthday!
He, of course, LOVES the gifts, as does Maggie... BUT... they absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing their cousins!!! Michelle, Chris and Ashley are THREE (see, all things 3!) of the most important and special people in their lives! The excitement and just PURE JOY that Jackson and Maggie have when they are with their Aunt, Uncle and Cousins is beyond sweet.
Maggie's new Cinderella blankie...
(made by Mama, loved by Maggie! Success for all!)
Jack can't get enough of Uncle Jeff!
or Cousin Chris!
Maggie's Party on Saturday was so much fun... but, with her "real birthday" falling on a Monday...

We decided it would be really fun to invite some friends to the park!
We all had a great time playing on all the cool play structures, running super fast, rolling down grass hills, playing in the "tricky fountain" (ie. water feature), loving on friends, sharing cupcakes with friends, singing Happy Birthday to Maggie... and just enjoying a SUPER GREAT morning/early afternoon at one of our favorite neighborhood parks!
Thank you so much to all of our fabulous friends who were able to come! You each made Maggie's birthday so very special! xoxo
Feeling a bit unsure of everything at first... but it sure didn't take long for Maggie to warm up, and have a super fun time with all of her friends, Mama, and her friend's Mama's too!!!
PARK FUN!
Jackson was ready to hit the "tricky fountains" as soon as we got to the park. Even with it being 10am, and still pretty chilly!

After a good 30 min. of water fun (and getting completely soaked!!!), he did make a run towards me for a warm towel, and help with getting back into his warm, dry clothes!!!
Maggie's absolute favorite park activity is (and always has been) the SWINGS!
She loves them!
I always joke, that she would be happy just swinging in the swings, and people watching!!!!
She was having a lot of fun swinging with our little friend, Maya! Who is beyond a CUTIE! Maya has a big brother (who is Jackson's age, and after today, one of Jackson's "very best friends. because he is a really nice boy, and has really nice manners" ~ via J.), Will who also is pretty darn cute & sweet too!
 Friends, Friends, Friends!
(sadly, I didn't get a moment for a group picture :( We were all busy munchkin watching/playing/chasing!)... Hence, this photo only has about 1/2 of our friends in it... the park was a HIT!
This might be is one of my favorite pictures of today... Maggie on the fun lil' teeter/totter with my Cousin Sami's (in the background wearing brown shirt) AMAZINGINGLY Sweet wife, Laura.
With that said, again one of the very BEST parts of today (other than our sweet girl turning 3!), was that my Cousin, along with his fabulous family are here on vacation in Oregon, (to see family & many friends) for a few weeks, from San Diego. We don't get to see them often, so it was beyond a special treat for us (especially Mommy!).
They were able to come to the park, and we were absolutely THRILLED to get to visit with them. They have two adorable little girls. Mira Beth (Mimi) is 3 months younger than Maggie... and sweet as pie, along with the agility of a monkey! :) Their youngest, Lilah, wasn't able to join us at the park (darn nap times!), but we are really looking forward to spending more time with them while they are here!
Above is the pure cuteness & sweetness, I'm talkin' about!
Miss Mira Beth (Mimi)
So... if you're still reading, I'm impressed!
I warned you about the overload of photos... as one would think this was the end... not so much :p
Here are a few of my ABSOLUTE favorite photos of our girl... and yep, I had to love to share!
New Years Eve, 2010. One day shy of 18 months!
January 2, 2010 - officially 18 months!

 Christmas 2010
Having fun playing in all of the pillows on Mommy & Daddy's bed!
Still a little unsteady ... especially after a LOT of twirling in her "party dress". Yes, that she picked out to wear, for the day... a day we were just hanging out at home. Gotta always look your best!
Hears Jackson waking up from nap... love her expression! Is it fear or excitement?
Rocket Girl (NY Eve, 2010). Santa brought Maggie a very special RED ROCKET! She was SuperGirl with her speedy ride!
Only a sweet girl could get away with this kinda "bed head"!
Just a little sister. Ok, maybe just the BEST Little Sister!!!
First visit to the Dentist... and she did great ok. Wasn't really into the dentist or the dental assistant at all. Thankfully her next visit, 6 months later, went much better!
I certainly could add more and more and more photos! Possibly every photo we've taken or had taken of Maggie... but, then I know for sure, we'd lose the 2 (possible?) people (including Brian in that 2!) that read our blog. :)
We cannot thank all of our amazing family and friends for helping us raise, nurture, teach and unconditionally LOVE our sweet girl. We truly believe in "it takes a village to raise a child", and are beyond gracious for the amazing "village" we have!
For the last time (today) ...
Happy Birthday,
Sweet Marjorie Elizabeth Ann!
