The last weekend as a family of 3!

I was just thinking about how this weekend will be our last Saturday as a family of just 3 (ok, 4 including Buster). We are so excited to meet Maggie, but also it feels so weird to think of bringing another baby home, as Jack is still just a baby to us. To himself, he is quite the BIG boy... talking up a storm, being very adventurous and just an overall joy!
But, to think he'll soon be our "real" big boy, and Maggie will be our little baby, is hard to imagine. We are hoping that the transition is smooth for Jack, but realize that there may be some bumps along the way. He is so used to having all of our attention, and has begun to really demand it. He loves having Daddy home and all to himself on the weekends, and our daily playdates during the week with our Mommy/Kiddo group. It's going to be a big change for all of us, but I think the most for him.
Brian and I are really going to try to keep him on his schedule, and try not to make too many changes for him, but inevitably there will be changes with having a newborn in the house, and a little sister to compete with! We hope that he will keep his same sweet attitude and fun personality. We will, of course, each take special time for him.
But, again, this is all going to be a BIG CHANGE for him, and we don't think he has any idea what is in store for our entire family next week.

Again, if I haven't gone into labor by Thursday, I will be induced Thursday morning, and hopefully holding a strong, healthy, beautiful baby Marjorie (Maggie) in my arms by the afternoon.
We'll keep everyone posted on her arrival, and post pictures as soon as we can!

What a weekend!!!

Well, we had quite the weekend.
Brooke thought she was going into labor, not once, but twice. And, made, yes... 2 trips to Labor & Delivery. It was not fun, being released without a baby. She is stuck at 3cm, and about 80% effaced. So, Maggie is definitely taking her time. We were very lucky to have Brian's parents to come and stay the weekend to be "on call" to care for Jack.

Yesterday, she had her routine visit with the OB, and still is at 3cm. So, we are still patiently waiting for our little Princess to make her arrival. If Maggie does not decide to come on her own by Brooke's next OB appointment (next Tuesday), the OB would like to induce on July 2nd. Although, Brooke would prefer Maggie to come on her own, we are looking forward to meeting her and having Brooke be a little more comfortable - with Maggie in her arms!

Thank you to everyone for all of your kind words, thoughts and prayers. We promise to update and keep everyone posted on Maggie's arrival! And, of course post pictures as soon as we can.
Love and miss you all,
The Weeks'

Latest Maggie Update...

Today we had our 37 week Ultrasound and OB appointment. Maggie looked great in the ultrasound, and in the 3D portion, we thought she looked a bit like Jack when he was first born. :)
She is measuring perfectly, at approximately 6lbs, 12 oz. The Ultrasound Tech thought that if she went full term she would weigh around 8 1/2 lbs. Let's hope for that!!!! And, nothing bigger than Jack was!!!! The Ultrasound Tech also said her head was quite low, and in a great position to make her arrival.
The OB was as pleased with her progress. Brooke will go in every week until Maggie decides to make her Grand Entrance, let's hope it's sooner than later, as Brooke has become VERY uncomfortable!
We'll keep everyone posted!
Love,
Brian, Brooke and Jack

A bit of a scare...

Yesterday morning, I woke up just overall not feeling great. I had been having some inconsistent contractions (maybe Braxton Hicks????), and a lot of pelvic pressure, so I decided to call the OB. Unfortunately, he wasn't in, so I spoke with one of the nurses who told me to promptly head to the Labor & Delivery at the hospital. I was beginning to get really nervous... I'm almost 37 weeks, but not quite ready to have this little girl. Once we got there, they monitored me for a while, as well as "checked" me to see if I was dialated, etc.
Needless to say, she's still baking in my belly. I'm probably only about 1/2 cm dialated, but my cervix is very soft and getting ready for her to arrive. Not sure when, though.... I guess that's all up to the little princess!
Let's hope she gives us a few more weeks, so that we know she'll be nice and healthy!
Next Tuesday we have an appt. with the OB, and will have a full ultrasound to see how she's doing in there. We'll definitely keep everyone updated! Until then, let's just all hope and pray she stays put... in MY BELLY!

Family Baby Shower

We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family. This past weekend our Mom's (both Amy & Karen) co-hosted a baby shower at Brooke's Aunt Kathy's home in Beaverton. It was wonderful. Lots of extended family was able to come, and Brooke, Jack and Baby Maggie were beyond spoiled with all of the wonderful gifts. Not to mention the decorations and food were wonderful, but of course, the company was the BEST! Enjoy the pictures from a memorable and fabulous day!
As you can see, Maggie is GROWING!!!! :)

It's getting hot, hot, hot!!!

Summer has definitely made it's grand entrance. It is getting HOT! And, our house is HOT!

Yesterday, Jack and I ventured out into the A/C (store) and got a pool for him. He's not to keen on going in just yet, but loves to splash his hands in it, and throw the dog toys in it, and then fish them out! And, of course, Buster can't pass up a cool drink! :)

Enjoy the pictures of our little nature boy in the backyard!

Maggie's Baby Shower!

This past weekend we all headed to Portland for a "friends" baby shower for Maggie! Our great friends Ryan and Lindsey Anderson threw it for us at their home, and it was so much fun. A few of Brooke's close friends were able to come, and they were all so generous towards little Maggie.

Jack had a great time too, playing with Bailey (Ryan & Lindsey's daughter, who will turn 2 in July).

After the shower we went to Aunt Kathy's to help celebrate Grandma Bette's birthday! It was a great day! Seeing wonderful friends & family. We had a great time, although it seemed to fly by.
Brooke will be back down there next weekend for yet another shower, this time a "family" shower. Just she and Jack will be going, and Brian will be staying behind, but also having fun. He's headed to a Seattle Mariners Baseball game with his Dad!!! We'll sure miss him!

Enjoy the pictures!
