This weekend...

This weekend we are headed to Portland! We can't wait to see Brooke's family! Grandma Amy and Nana Bette will be there, along with Aunt Kathy and "clan" :). We are so excited to see them, as it's been a while! Living so far has been difficult, but we are trying to make trips there, and are hoping that they will be able to make trips to see us as well.

Along with seeing family, we are having some family photos done, by one of Brooke's great friends Marie Pham (www.mariephamphotography.com). She does amazing photography, and has done many of our past family pictures. She will also do some Maternity pictures of Brooke. We are looking forward to that, and are keeping our fingers crossed for nice weather and Jack's cooperation!

We will post pics of our weekend upon our return!

Fun with Friends...

Today we had a great time with our friends Val and baby Olivia and Christine and baby Canaan. First we went and painted pottery! Jack was a WILD MAN to say the least. He was running all over the place, and of course the only thing he wanted to paint was a DOG! His obsession continues...
So, we found a dog for him to paint, which lasted about 2 minutes, until he was bored and ready to run all over the place. So, I ended up finishing painting his dog. We tried to make him look like Buster. I had to corral Jack in his stroller and give him a bagel to eat while I finished the "dog".

After painting, we headed for a short walk to a fun little kids shop in Gig Harbor, called Animal Crackers. It was fun! Then, we all went to lunch.

What a fun morning we had with our wonderful new friends!!!

Overall... GREAT DAY!

Finally, Jack seems to be on the mend! Thank Goodness! We appreciate everyone's kind thoughts, words and prayers. It has been a long 10 days for us!!!

Since Brian was headed back to work today, I knew that it might be a long day for the little man and me! He woke up somewhat fussy, and didn't want to eat much breakfast. But, I decided that we both needed some outside time. We went to the park, and he had SO much fun!!! He really just wanted to swing the whole time, but I think he definitely needed the fresh air and sunshine, as did I!!!

We are so ready to have a fun week ahead! Tomorrow Jack will go back to St. Nick's in the a.m., barring no reoccuring illness tonight/in the morning, and then we have playdates lined up most of the week! WAHOO!!!! So ready to be out of the house!

We love and miss you all! xoxoxo

ps. Here are some pics of Jack eating a sandwich like the BIG boy he is!!!

Jack...

As most of you know, Jack has been sick for a week now. Mostly just a snotty nose and fever, that we've been able to keep under control.

However, this morning, Brian and I woke to him SCREAMING at 5:30am. It was the type of scream that you know something is WRONG! We got him out of bed and he was sweating and just soaked. We immediately gave him Tylenol and a cool bath. Unfortunately, we were unable to get his fever down. :( So, we decided to take him to the ER. Luckily, Gig Harbor has just built a brand new beautiful hospital. We were there by 6:30 am, and the only patients... Thank Goodness. The Dr. was in before the nurse had even finished doing vitals, etc.
The Dr. said that there is a really bad virus going around, and that is what he thought Jack had. They gave him more Tylenol and Pedialite, and waited an hour to see if they could get the fever down. Which they were able to do! But, it was quite a morning for our poor little guy. He didn't want any of the Dr's near him, nor did he want to cooperate with any of the checking of his little body.
This afternoon he's been very fussy, but we are hoping and praying he's on the mend. He's a tough little man, but it's so hard to see him so sick!
Let's hope tomorrow brings health and sun! We are ready to get out of the house ... and do something fun!

Ready to be on the mend!!!

As Friday is here already, I've looked back on the past week, and realized that Jack and I have rarely left the house! This is a big deal, considering, we usually go somewhere EVERY day. This flu bug has really gotten us down! Jack began with it on Monday and is still showing some symptoms, but seems to be on the mend, Thank Goodness. I, however, began to feel it coming on Wednesday afternoon, and am still basically couch/bed ridden. YUCK! Hoping to feel better and enjoy the weekend!!!

Brian is almost over his cold, and didn't seem to catch the flu bug... again Thank Goodness. It's hard when we are all sick!!!

We are hoping to have a nice relaxing weekend. And, hopefully - FINALLY - finish Miss Maggie's room. Her changing table has arrived, and we just need to go and pick it up. Then we can put all of her clothes away, and it will feel more like a bedroom, rather than just a big storage room. Again, we are so thankful to all of our wonderful friends & family for their generosity in helping us prepare for our little princess' arrival.

On another note: I didn't pass my first Glucose Test... darnit! I have to go back in next Thursday and do the 3 hour test... NO FUN! Let's just pray and hope that the results come back good and I don't have Gestational Diabetes!!! I'll keep you all posted.

Love you all so much! xoxoxo
ps. I do have some new pics from this week, I just need to be feeling a little better to get on the other computer and upload them. I will try to make that a priority this weekend!

P.S. Here are some cute pics of Jack while sick... :( He's still adorable, even when he's feeling lousy :) The new "dog blankie" came from our good friends the Klein's who live in Bend. They have been so generous with sending us great things for Jack and Maggie!

Maggie Update...

Today I had my monthly OB visit. Maggie is doing GREAT! Her heartbeat was nice and strong and she is measuring to come on time (let's hope!). And, the Glucose Test wasn't too bad. They have made the "drink" carbonated now, so it just tasted like really sweet orange soda.
Let's just hope I "pass" the first round, so I don't have to go back for the 3 hour test.
It's really starting to hit us that we'll have another baby in the house. Having the crib up, and getting all of her little things in order. It's all very exciting, but also scary at the same time. To think of 2 babies under the age of 2!!!!
We hope that Jack will love his baby sister from the start, but realize that there will be an adjustment period, as he has been our main man for so long!
He's such a sweet boy, I hope he keeps his same disposition with our new addition.

On another note, Jack is STILL sick. Poor little guy. He's dealing with it fairly well, but is really struggling to fight this off. I will call the pediatrician if he is still feeling crummy tomorrow. Let's hope he's on the mend by then!

Just wanted to let you all know that Maggie is doing great, as is Jack, besides struggling with being sick. He's still wild as ever! Nothing seems to slow him down!!!!

Sick, sick and sick...

Well, we have all succumb to the crud that is going around. Ick!
Poor Jack and Brian have it the worse. Especially Jack. He is sick with a really bad cold/flu, but seems to be trying very hard to fight it off! Let's hope tomorrow is a better day than today!
Brian is struggling with a horrible cold, and as most of you know, it takes a lot to slow him down. He doesn't miss a day of work, unless he literally cannot move. So, I'm trying to convince him to really take it easy.

Tomorrow I go in for my monthly OB appointment. It will be wonderful to hear Miss Maggie's sweet heartbeat - I look forward to it every month. And each time I hear it, I am so thankful and grateful for a healthy baby growing inside of me. But, the downside of this appointment is having to do my Glucose Test to test for Gestational Diabetes. Ick! I was borderline with Jackson, so I'm really hoping that I pass this first test, and don't have to do the 3 hour test!!! So, WISH ME LUCK! Hopefully all the popsicles and ice cream I've been consuming won't affect the results.... here's to hoping!!!

I'll update tomorrow evening. Remember that promise of keeping the blog updated, well, so far I'm doing my BEST!!!! Love you all!

Jack's sleepover...

Jack spent the night with his Grandma & Grandpa Weeks on Saturday night. Although we (Brian and I) knew he would have a wonderful time, we knew that we would miss him. It's only his 2nd overnight without us!
He did great, as expected!!! When we went to pick him up, he was happy to see us, but he had a wonderful time with Nama and Yampa. And, of course, got spoiled rotten. We hope that he will soon get to have a sleepover with Grandma and Grandpa Freni!!!! And, of course, yet again... get spoiled rotten. Isn't that what Grandparents are for????

However, all good things come to an end, right? Soon after getting home, Jack seemed to not be feeling good. He's fighting off a cold... poor little guy! Lots of coughing and runny nose. Let's hope it ends soon! We have a fun filled week ahead of us. Lots of playdates in our (finally) gorgeous weather!

Brooke's Pregnancy...

As most of you know, Brooke's pregnancy, has been less than fun for her ... and the baby.
She has suffered from severe migraines, which have in turn led to dehydration, hospitalizations, etc. BUT, she has been feeling better! Must be the entrance of the 3rd trimester!
We are so excited to be having a baby girl, and giving Jackson a baby sister.
We have decided on a very special name for our baby girl. We will name her Marjorie Elizabeth Ann Weeks. Quite the name for a little girl, but have decided to call her Maggie.
She is now due to make her arrival on July 7th!
We can't believe how soon she will be here!
We are hoping to have lots of family and friends be able to come and visit our new addition once she arrives. We will, of course, keep EVERYONE posted!!!
ps. The picture is Brooke 30 weeks pregnant - only 10 weeks to go!!!!

New Blog!

Well, we have decided since we have another addition coming soon to our family, that we should expand upon Jack's website, and begin a blog for all of our wonderful friends and family to follow us in our wonderful journey!
As you all know, we have recently relocated to Gig Harbor, Washington. We are just outside of Tacoma, and about 30 min. south of Seattle. It is absolutely GORGEOUS here, and we are becoming accustomed to our new surroundings. Brooke & Jack have found some fun Mom & Kiddo groups, as well as some fun parks, etc. to keep them busy. We love our new home, and are enjoying having MORE space.
Of course, the downfall being that we left so many friends & family, and miss them terribly!
We do have Brian's family closer, which we are so thankful for!
