Jack's vacay with G & G

This weekend while Brian and I celebrated our 2nd year Anniversary, Brian's parents kindly took Jack for 2 full nights! Phew!!! He didn't sleep well there, but seemed in wonderful spirits when we picked him up. He had a GREAT time! Lots of walks and also got to see his cousins and Uncle Jeff and Aunt Misty. Aunt Misty took some great photos which are attached! We were glad to have our little man back, and both Brian and I think he grew while he was there! :)

Anniversary in Seattle

Today Brian and I spent the day in Seattle, mostly spending time on the Piers and Pike's Place Market. We had such a great time! Jack was with Grandma & Grandpa, so we had the day all to ourselves. Of course, we missed our little man, but we had such a GREAT time. Enjoy the pictures!

Summer on it's way...

Can't believe that it's already heading towards the end of May! This "spring" has flown by. I'm so excited to FINALLY have some nice weather.

Jack is doing GREAT! He's learning all sorts of new words and really being able to communicate with us. It's wonderful, because he gets so frustrated when he's trying to tell us something, and we just can't seem to figure it out.

On another note, I had an OB appointment on Tuesday. I, unfortunately, was once again very dehydrated, and having been having a lot of Braxton Hicks and lower pelvic pressure. They have put me on "partial bedrest" until my next appt. in 2 weeks. Basically - I just need to slow down. Which, as most of you know, is so hard for me to do! I hate staying in the house. But, if it's what I need to do for my health and Maggie's - of course, I will follow dr's orders!

I've included some pictures of Maggie's room - still in progress.

2 Years!!!

As I look back, I can't believe on May 26th, Brian and I have been married for 2 years. It's been amazing thus far, and I look forward to spending the rest of my life with him. He has been the best and most amazing husband I could ever ask for. Of course, not saying that we don't have disagreements, or spats, but overall we have a great marriage. I really feel that we both value eachother's opinions, values, morals and overall happiness.

We did have a fast and amazing courtship, but I think that it has made us stronger as a couple. I admire what an amazing husband and father he is. He works very hard for our family, and recognizes that I do the same. Again, it's not always easy, but I think we both know that we were meant to be!

We plan on taking a trip next weekend to celebrate - to Seattle. Jack will stay with Grandma and Grandpa. We are both really looking forward to this, as it will probably be our last alone trip for quite some time!

So, here's to a wonderful 2 years... and many, many more to come!!!!

ps. Enjoy my reminiscing photos!!!

On Friday we had dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Weeks' house to celebrate Brooke's birthday. Brian took a quick video of Jack dancing. Unfortunately, there isn't any sound on the movie, but if you can...imagine the disco song "Boogie Shoes" playing in the background.

Brooke's Birthday!

Today we celebrated my 29th (!) birthday! We had a wonderful day. We first went to breakfast, and then headed to the Pt. Defiance Zoo! We had a blast! Jack enjoyed every second of it.
Then we all came home to take a little rest. After our rest, I went and got a pedicure, and then we headed out for a Mexican dinner. Overall, a wonderful day.

Brian and Jack really made it special for me! I'm so thankful and blessed to have such wonderful guys in my life!

Just think, next year, Maggie will be joining us!

Jack's Stats...

Today Jack had his 18 month check up with his new Pediatrician, Dr. Berglund.
Jack made it very clear, he did not want to be there, once we entered the exam room.
But, he did the best to be expected. He was weighed and measured, as well as an overall checkup. He had to get one follow-up Hep. vaccine, but no other shots, thank goodness.
He DID NOT like the shot, to say the least! Screamed his little head off. Good thing I had one of his toddler granola bars in my purse, as soon as he saw it - the tears were GONE! :)

He weighed in at 29lbs, 7oz., and his height was 34". He is in the 90th percentile for weight, and 95th percentile for height.

The Dr. asked how tall I was, how tall Brian was. When I told her we are both only 5'7", she said, well you must have tall/big genes in your family. :)

Looks like he's going to be a BIG boy!!!! When we got home, I gave him some Tylenol and he slept for a lovely 3 hours! And, woke up in a great mood!
He won't need to go back to the Dr. until he is 2!!!! WAHOOO!!!! Just in time for a Maggie check-up. :)

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day! Jack and Brian woke up me up around 8am, to give me my cards and gift - I got a spa gift certificate! What a great hubby and kiddo I have!!!
After we were up and at 'em, we headed out to breakfast, at this cute little spot called "Kelly's" in Gig Harbor - they have a GREAT breakfast.
Jack enjoyed a BIG pancake - and rode the electronic horse outside (2x!).

We headed home for a little R & R, before heading out to the park for a picnic! Overall, it was a wonderful day! I'm so blessed to be a Mother to Jack, and to have Brian as my husband. I can't believe soon enough, I will be a Mother to 2!
I think Maggie knew it was Mother's Day, because she was giving me a heck of a time with some really strong Braxton Hicks - she didn't want to miss out on all the fun!
But, she's got to stay in there a bit longer! We want her to be nice and ready!
I hope all of you who are Mother's enjoyed your special day, as you all deserve it!

This poem, has always brought tears to my eyes, but it is all so true, especially if you yourself are a Mama:

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys,
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night,
watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom

Again, Happy Mother's Day!

BROWNIES... mmmm....

As we all know, this hasn't been the best "spring" - more like Fall Showers around here.

So, Jack and I have had to come up with fun things to do INDOORS - not easy with a 1 1/2 year old that wants to run around.

So, last week, "we" made brownies... probably not the best idea for a little guy and his preggo mama!

Jack had a lot of fun helping out, as you can see. And, we both enjoyed eating them. We save about half of the pan for Brian when he got home! :)

Home from Portland...

Needless to say, we had a WONDERFUL weekend in Portland. We got to visit with a lot of family, and it was so nice to see them all, and really hard to say good-bye. But, only a few weeks, and we'll be back again! Jack did fabulous! He slept wonderfully, and had so much fun with all of his cousins, Grandma Amy, Nana, Aunt Kathy & Julie, and of course, Aunt Kathy's dog, Eddie!
On the way home, we stopped and saw our good friends Niki & Matt Crose. It was great to see them, as it had been a while. They also have a dog, Magnus (a cute little beagel), that Jack LOVED. So, once again... dog obsession continues...

Jack was really happy when we picked Buster up from Grandma & Grandpa Weeks' house. He really missed Buster, and we think Buster missed him too! They are best friends these days!

ps. We were so bad at taking pictures this weekend.... so don't have any to post... eeek!!!! Promise to get better at that! The pictures at the beginning of this entry are a sneak peak from Brooke's Maternity Photo Session - hope to have more soon!
